About the Executive Committee
Commonwealth Youth New Zealand (CYNZ) is a youth-led nonprofit that educates young New Zealanders about the Commonwealth and its values, and provides opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills and act on issues they are passionate about. To achieve this, the Executive Committee plans and delivers a range of events, programmes and initiatives, working with our passionate members and volunteers as well as our partner organisations.
We are a group of university students and young professionals who want to develop our skills, teach others about the Commonwealth and network with each other. We'd love for you to join us!

About the Communications Officer role
We are looking for a positive, driven and proactive person to grow our social media reach, connect with and expand our audiences and tell our story. This is the ideal role for someone creative who can take initiative and develop and implement new ideas.
The Communications Officer’s broad responsibilities will include:
Graphic design and photography skills are not required (but we welcome them!)
This is a volunteer role which will not be remunerated. The expected time commitment is 1 - 3 hours per week (on average).

- Collecting, creating and publishing social media content
- Designing outgoing communications
- Updating web content.

About the appointment process
The Communications Officer will be appointed by the Board of CYNZ. We are inviting applications from young professionals and students for Executive Committee members.
